At the foot of the north facing side of the Monts of Blond, situated on a large open plataeu, you will find the head quarters or base of the Estivol Air base, a civilian leisure base, called "Libarderie" in the commune of Blond. Home to the ULM ultra light machine (aircraft classified as less than 500kg in weight)
The base is situated in an excellent geographical and aerial position which is well suited for numerous aerial activites which take place in their 20 hectares of land. It gives a real ambience of nostalgia.
A hangar of 600m2 is currently being modified and updated,and there are already covered parking areas available for the Ultra light craft, limousine style barns for shelter and alleys lined with ancient shady oak trees which are hundreds of years old. Private parking is also available.

- Kite flying either by single line or command controlled, kite with traction,
kite with cart attached below
- paraglider (motorised)
- Motorised Paraglider training school ( instruction)
- ULM
- deltawing towed by ULM
-Hot Air Baloon (Maiden flights)
- Hot Air Baloon Pilot Training School with qualified Instructors
-In association and with permission of The University of Limoges
the students will be initiated to help inflate the paragliders.
